Van Isle BJJ was built from the ground up as something entirely unique — a boutique, 6,500 square foot Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Esquimalt, Victoria BC. Immaculately maintained, thoughtfully equipped, and unlike anything else in the country, every detail of the facility was crafted by lifelong martial artists who wanted a space worthy of world-class training.
From the competition-grade mats and cedar dry sauna to the curated lounge, spa-inspired showers, and two private weight rooms, the space was designed to elevate your training from the moment you walk in. Two separate, fully-matted training rooms with 2,400 sq ft of premium tatami-style flooring. Our mats are built on an impact-absorbing subfloor — the only BJJ academy in town with this feature — making training safer and more comfortable for takedowns, throws, and everyday practice.
With two independent mat spaces, we can run multiple classes at the same time, giving members more training options and schedule flexibility.

The facility is a few hundred metres from CFB Esquimalt and easy to reach from Admirals Road, Old Island Highway, and Esquimalt Road. Members regularly train with us from Sooke, Metchosin, the Highlands, Central Saanich, and as far north as Sidney and the Peninsula.
